Terms & Conditions
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you buy something from this shop. They are written to be read, so they are shorter than most. Where the law gives you a right, these terms do not take it away — they cannot, and we would not want them to.
Contact information
Amino & Co can be contacted by email at
- Email: hello@aminoand.co
There is no telephone number. Everything is handled by email, which is the fastest way to reach us and leaves both of us with a record of what was said. We aim to answer within one working day.
We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on anything you buy here and the price shown is the whole price of the goods.
What we sell, and what we do not
Amino & Co sells laboratory and research accessories and equipment: pens, cartridges, filters, cases, storage and sterile diluents for laboratory use.
Everything here is sold for laboratory and research use only.
- Nothing sold here is a medicine, and nothing here is licensed by the MHRA.
- Nothing sold here is intended for human or veterinary use, for injection, for diagnosis, or for treating anybody.
- We do not sell peptides, compounds or any other substance for administration, and we will not source them.
If you are looking for a medicine, a pharmacy or a prescriber is the right place, and we would rather say so than sell you something on a misunderstanding.
You are responsible for using what you buy lawfully and safely, and for satisfying yourself that a product is right for what you intend before you order it.
You must be 18 or over
You must be at least 18 to order from this shop.
This is our own rule rather than a legal age limit — none of what we sell is age-restricted by law in the UK. We apply it because these are laboratory goods and we would rather they were bought by adults. By placing an order you confirm you are 18 or over.
How an order is made
An order goes through four steps, and the contract between us is only made at the last one.
- You place the order. Nothing is charged and nothing is agreed yet.
- We hold the stock for 120 minutes so that it is still there while you pay.
- You pay, by card through PayPal or in USDT or USDC on Ethereum.
- We accept your order by dispatching it. That is the moment the contract is made.
We tell you by email at each step, so you are never guessing where an order has got to.
The 120-minute hold
The hold reserves the goods; it is not a contract, and it does not oblige either of us to go through with the sale.
- You can cancel a held order yourself, from the order screen, at any point before you have paid.
- We can release a hold and cancel an unpaid order — for example if the item turns out not to be on the shelf, if the price was wrong, or if we cannot accept the order for any other reason. We reserve that right and it applies only while the order is unpaid.
- When the 120 minutes pass without payment, the order lapses on its own and we email you to say so.
Once payment has completed, the order is no longer one you can cancel through the shop. Your separate legal right to cancel after delivery is set out in our Returns, Refunds & Delivery Policy and is unaffected by any of this.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and are the price of the goods. Delivery is added at checkout at a flat £3.95.
We accept two ways to pay.
- Card, through PayPal. PayPal handles the payment. We never see or hold your card number.
- USDT or USDC on the Ethereum network, sent to the receiving address the payment screen shows you.
Some products also display a reference price in US dollars. That is for comparison only; the amount you pay is the sterling price.
If you pay in coin, read this part
A transfer on a blockchain cannot be reversed by us or by anybody else. So:
- If you send too little, nothing is lost. We hold what arrived, tell you, and ask for the balance.
- If you send the wrong coin, or use the wrong network, or send to the wrong address, the money is gone. We cannot recover it, and we cannot refund what never reached us. Send only USDT or USDC, only on Ethereum, and only to the address on the payment screen.
- Send the payment once. If it is on its way, it will arrive and we will see it.
We watch the chain for your payment and confirm it on screen and by email. You never need to tell us you have paid.
Delivery
We deliver to United Kingdom addresses only, by Royal Mail Tracked 48, at a flat £3.95 for any order.
We aim to dispatch within 24 to 48 hours of payment clearing. Delivery times, missing parcels and what happens when something goes wrong are all in the Returns, Refunds & Delivery Policy.
Your rights if something is wrong
We have a legal duty to supply goods that match their description, are of satisfactory quality and are fit for purpose. Nothing here limits that.
If something arrives faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, tell us and we will put it right at our cost. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and your right to cancel a distance sale under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are set out in full in the Returns, Refunds & Delivery Policy.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses — these goods are sold for laboratory and research use, and we supply them on the basis that they are not being bought for resale or for use in a business we know nothing about.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Your information
What we collect, who we share it with and how long we keep it are in the Privacy & Cookies Policy.
Complaints
Email hello@aminoand.co and tell us what went wrong. We aim to acknowledge within one working day and to resolve within fourteen days, and we will tell you if it is going to take longer.
We are not a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. If we cannot settle something between us, you can take it to the courts.
Changes, and the law that applies
We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and we keep the date below current so you can see when it last moved.
These terms and any contract between us are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
